It would nice to have an information session regarding our rights as students as well as the procedures. For example, what social security access do we have and what does it mean (depending on the different contracts); what if I’m in a long term medical stop ? Who should I contact, what are the different deadlines for admin?
Do we have the right to stop a PhD (a question I’m frequently asked by 1st year students)? For all these questions we have to look specifically on the very bad website of ulb if our supervisor do not provide it, which is the case in my lab. All the different procedures are very hard to find and in my opinion, it looks like ulb doesn’t want us to know what we can rightfully ask.
